I remember seeing “Mr. Mom” in the movie theaters twenty years ago. It was a cute, harmless comedy. Whenever I judge of Michael Keaton, I deem of this movie. Michael Keaton stars as Jack Butler who falls victim to layoffs at the company he works for. His wife Caroline played by Terri Garr makes a bet with him over who gets a job first. Caroline manages to regain a job at an advertising agency headed by Ron Richardson (Martin Mull) . The only drawback is that Caroline hasn’t worked in awhile so she is like a fish out of water at the company until she comes up with a snazzy ad campaign for tuna fish. In the meantime, Jack has to remove over the role of housewife and learn to well-organized the house, choose care of the children, fix dinner, do laundry, and go grocery shopping. It takes Jack awhile to adapt to the role of Mr. Mom but he has the wait on of Caroline’s friends. The results is hilarious especially when Jack goes to the grocery store and loses one of his children. Another accepted moments is when the women and Jack are playing poker with grocery coupons or when they waste up going to a Chippendale’s nightclub. “Mr. Mom” is profitable, dapper fun. Nothing offensive so it is perfect for children to survey. I detached delight in watching it after all these years.

This 1983 comedy is a actual gem. No matter what the one star reviews below so ignorantly say. It’s definitley one of the best jobs Michael Keaton has ever done. The movie has droll written all over it. It’s too terrible the people down below have no sense of humor. Keaton stars as Jack Butler, a man who is laid off from his job. As soon as he is, his wife(Teri Garr) decides to go abet to work and gets a mammoth job. Terrible Jack is now home dealing with all of the normal,everyday things that you usually do. He is raising the kids, doing the dishes, laundry, making dinner. He has even started to ogle soaps and hang out the neighborhood ladies. Grocery shopping is a nightmare for him. The review on this page stated that the movie is sexist. Please. People design arguments over something that’s not even there. Suppose. This movie has many classic scenes as well as dialogue that you can tell over and over. The supporting cast includes a number of familiar faces : Martin Mull, Jeffrey Tambor, and Christopher Lloyd. This is a astounding family comedy that deserves a lot more attention than it got. Don’t let the negative reviews sway you from seeing a sweet,charming comedy. Advantageous and comical.

This Canadian production is one of the best panic comedies and period films available for fans hungry for bizarre and madcap entertainment. The unusual exploitation of the Zombie genre gives situation to many different styles and moods, and a noble tense and goofy comedy about the narrative of the undead and the apocalypse on earth, with all the violence and gore implied, mixed with all-american family values and “pet” ownership responsability in a dystopic society that domesticated zombies for labor work, is always welcome.

Weird as it sounds, this movie is pure fun, with no major ambitions that showing a hilarious vision of a 50’s era alternate universe, where domesticated zombies play a functional role in society: They swear the milk and the mail, and even attend in household chores. When the earth passed throught a cloud of place dust and the monotonous arose from their graves to savor living human flesh, it seemed than all hope for humanity was lost. After the mayhem and chaos unleashed by the living stupid, the scientist of the Zom Com company created a special collar that turned the vicious spirited corpses into docile beasts, willing to obey some basic commands. This notion of “protection” is, as you can imagine, very fragile and it test one’s imagination over poor things to arrive, creating a comic tension about this extravagant novel society.

Now, limited Timmy Robinson (Ksun Ray) isn’t quite convinced of this menacing urban panorama. This serene but skeptical young boy spends too remarkable time alone in his bedroom, developping an anti-social behaviour that worries her comely mother (Carrie Ann Moss), who objective purchased a zombie nicknamed Fido (Bill Conolly) to relieve with the housework, not smart that the creature will soon forge a friendship with the boy at the point of becoming a member of the family. Things go out of control when Fido’s collar starts to malfunction and some neighbors open to die, but the most though-provoking twist is when the top specialist in zombie control of Zom Com, Mr Bottoms (Henry Czerny) , moves across the street, increasing the complications of the set and threatening to “block” the human and zombie relations.

Speaking only for myself, this movie enchanted me for its simplicity in the vision of a intellectual dystopic society living side to side with flesh-eating ghouls, and the melodramatic macabre vision over human-pet relationships, creating a bizarre paralel universe where the very idea of normality is the basis for entertainment. There’s no abuse of the zombie imagery, the focus of the film rests in the freaky and abnormal 50’s atmosphere created, and the performances are good for this kind of film, destined to become a cult reference in the zombie sub-genre. The opening scene of the educational unlit & white video for kids in school, is an early highlight for this outrageously amusing dismay comedy. Higly recommended.

There are people in this world with a demented sense of humor. Those people like films like “Shaun of the Dead’ and fetch “Lake Placid” to be among one of the funnier films made that year. Then there are people who contemplate the aforementioned folks need psychiatric succor. If you are one of group “A” then I would strongly recommend “Fido” for your viewing pleasure. I personally grinned madly through the entire film, from the campy remake of the war footage to the 50’s commercials skewering the elderly. The premise is simple, steal all of the wholesome 50’s TV shows and blend them together, capture the dog and add in some Zombies.

I rented this movie incandescent that it would either be one of the most disturbing yet hysterical movies I’ve seen, or one of the worst. I was thrilled to watch that I loved it. The acting was shimmering in that 1950’s diagram, the color, the scenery; everything was exactly what it needed to be to re-make the 50’s with a few zombies added in. The zombies were easy to state, shambling about in a pleasing shade of blue gray doing the menial tasks in life that no one wants to do, like… mowing the lawn, or picking up garbage. Enter Fido, the lovable zombie who the Robinson’s bring home. The Robinsons are a disturbing mess of a dysfunctional family, with a neurotic zombie-phobic dad who has limited time or attention for his family, The pistol packing mother (Carrie Ann Moss) who does her best to gain the family together and find her husband’s attention, the son “Timmy” who is bullied at school, and friendless until Fido enters their lives. Throw in a few neurotic neighbors and a horrible zombie collar and you have an though-provoking evening. The most irregular thing about this film is that (apart from the zombies munching on people when off their leashes) there is nothing in this film to maintain it from being rated PG. Not a profanity, no nudity… unbiased wholesome Zombie Goodness.

The DVD begins with an advertisement for the Batman vs. Dracula DVD then jumps to 41BCE with the Romans sacking Egypt. Cleopatra narrates and sets the the background information for the film’s curse and love. Immediately after the monologue the credits initiate with familiar deliver talents,like Casey Kasem, for the main characters. (Credits for the recount talents are also shown at the destroy of the film but this time there’s a hide shot of the character in addition to the name) .

Velma discovers an ornament while working with Prince Omar on a reconstruction/refurbishment of the fabled Sphinx. The discovery leads to more discoveries and the arrival of a crew of greedy treasure-hunters lead by Dr. Amilia Von Butch. Typical of the Mystery Machine it overheats in the desert when the rest of the gang is on their the blueprint to the region to leer for themselves what Velma has been doing for the last 6 months. Cancelled TV reveal host Rock River of “Alarm Faces” (The tie-in with real television is hard to miss) tries to pick up his once-popular but now off-the-air program help on the air with photos of the gang’s tremulous faces and hopes to gather pictures of the “Army of the Undead”-Mummies who protect the riches. In a sidelight, Scooby is inaccurate for a Pharoah by a group of people who have moved from around the world to live in Egypt and want to live their lives impartial like the used Egyptians. The comedy scene actually ties-in to the situation and it is comical to discover Scooby & Shaggy ham-it-up.

Like previous shows there are a series of mishaps, lag scenes with musical interludes, traps, laughable disguises by Shaggy and Scooby, disappearences, creepy mummies, Velma loses her glasses, Scooby snacks, split-ups, screen & ogle, always hungry Scooby/Shaggy and gracious & untrue clues, etc. The only grand change in the format has to do with the “safe guys” at the raze during the unmasking.

The DVD contains extra features:

National Geographic’s “Curse of Scooby’s Lost Lunch” provides some photos and cartoons of dilapidated Egyptian sites along with a brief history on a level intended for kids. The National Geographic character “KID Y” helps Shaggy and Scooby in this feature. There are also some advertisments for National Geographic products.

“Mummy Wrap” Music Video is a cartoon with photos of Passe Egyptian sites and cultural items with Scooby-Doo & Shaggy that is also a learning tool for youngsters.

Three deleted scenes are next on the DVD extras. The first has the character “Triple A” and cartoon info on camel’s spit (Shaggy & Scooby regain hit in the face) . The second deals with a King Cobra snake and music played by “Triple A” who charms the snake rather than end it. The third deleted scene involves scorpions-everybody, even “Triple A” runs!

The next to last extra is a piece on the “Mystery Voices” where the train actors talk about doing their character (Virginia Madison as “Cleopatra”, Ron Perlman as “Hotep”, etc)

The last extra item on the DVD is a game called “Flee From the Ankh Chamber Challenge”. The cartoon game makes you dodge booby traps, decipher codes, etc.

This DVD also had a long list of advertisements for other DVDs at the very slay on the extra’s part.

The DVD comes in English Audio Only, but has subtitles for English, French, and Spanish. I wish it was also available in Spanish and French Audio, in order to near a larger audience and assist kids with learning other languages in a fun method.

When “Scooby Doo On Zombie Island” came out in 1998, I doubt many people idea Scooby Doo would compose it up to this 9th movie. Scooby may actually possess the relate as far as apt sequels go. Well, onto chapter 9. It grabs our attention with a flashback of Cleopatra. This is a pleasurable technique. For not only does it residence the mood, but it allows us some ambiguity. (Is the curse staged? Or is it possibly actual? ) Well, allotment of the curse seems proper at first. Inspiring on, Velmah is off doing some work in Egypt with a friend, and of course in a typical Scooby fashion, she is reunited with her gang. After the initial ice breaking, we soon meet the antagonists of this record. (A team of so called archeologists who are really thieves. Yes. The notorious Indiana Jones was often idea of as this, but we won’t go there.) Well, this gang of thieves basically wants to loot the tomb of Cleopatra. Additional elements of Cleopatra’s curse open to arrive good. (Exact or not? ) There are several customary touches with recent twists. Dreadful Scooby and Shaggy catch lost, but in a twist of fate, they accept their fill fan club. At first we may believe this is a laughable irrelevant subplot, but in the kill we gaze it certainly isn’t. I can’t say great more without ruining the movie for you, but even at chapter 9, Scooby gives us enough familiar things and enough recent twists. The different subplots of the movie arrive together surprisingly well, and we are offered a surprise twist ending that will build us want to behold the movie again with hindsight. I’ll do by saing that I seriously doubt that any other series can boast of standing this strong at 9 movies. Scooby Doo, please approach wait on for chapter 10 soon!

As the ads for the modern laughable book said, Unbiased Imagine! Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and more on one team. Well, actually as a child of 1970s, I can imagine it quite easily. On TV, it was called The Superfriends. But in the comics, these heroes were The Justice League. Now, they are abet!

This DVD is the first three episodes of a original cartoon series which at the moment isn’t being shown in my country of Canada.

First the estimable, the cartoon is attractive. It’s a fast-moving station — which as others have stated owes a debt to Wells’s War of the Worlds (as well as some Justice League comical books, where the invaders were White Martians and Apellaxians.)

For an action-driven movie, the character interplay is very genuine. Flash is an impulsive joker, Green Lantern a military type, Hawkgirl a fierce warrior. Relatively simple characterization but they blend fairly well.

And I like the composition of the team. With several Green Lanterns to settle from, they picked John Stewart. I scrutinize that a veteran reviewer complained about this. Well, essentially, GL is impartial a name and a power. So, why not grasp the sad (or African American, as Americans say) one? The same with Hawkgirl? I really don’t watch the immense deal here. It makes sense. After all, Kryptonians and Thanagarians and Martians — well, that really isn’t diversity.

My problems? Well, the station is a bit thin. I assume this comes from being a “widescreen” (well, fat frame in this case) sage battle. But the bigger dilemma? I know who John Stewart is (originally a social activist with a chip on his shoulder, and an architect) . I know who the Wally West Flash is. But I doubt the non-comics reader does. Distinct, the DVD has a character bio portion. But I contemplate with newcomer Wonder Woman, someone could have given her a brief description of the heroes. It’s called Secret Origins, but really, the only origin we score is J’Onn J’Onnz’s origin. I’m not even definite anyone ever calls Green Lantern by his superhero name once.

But if their names don’t approach through, their characters do. Remarkable more sharply than they did on the extinct Superfriends.

Mild… my biggest plight? That it doesn’t hold all those cold adventures I’ve been hearing about? Manhunters? The Injustice Gang? A Pseudo-Earth 2? Metamorpho? Bring them on!

Oh, and as for the person who said this was DC’s respond to the X-Men? Well, the Justice League came first.

Inasmuch as we have become a world of readers whose reading is petite to the latest offering from J.K. Rowling, John Grisham, or Stephen King, we seem to have forgotten the authors of classic literature. Obviously Lukic and company realize this and decided to loosely adapt the “Justice League” pilot on one of the greatest novels in science fiction history: H.G.Wells’ “The War of the Worlds.”

Making variations in Wells’ recent, the invaders are not Martians, but unnamed aliens that decimated Mars years before, thus enabling the storyline to introduce J’onn J’onzz, the Martian Manhunter. Each of the remaining superheroes is more familiar to the viewing audience; due to their various television incarnations of the past, cramped “introduction” is required.

The animation is adequate; the voiceover talent is comparable to the exemplary acting of the previous WB captivating shows of unusual years. The intelligent Kevin Conroy returns as Batman, showing that 10 years under the “cowl” is collected his domain.

For lovers of humorous books and quality-animated storytelling, this DVD is a generous pains

The makers of Cocalero were given terrific access to Morales and you can’t attend but reach away liking him. All the while, you’re struck by his low-keyed personality. This is not the kind of populist leader we’ve reach to interrogate. Morales is certainly charming and possesses a colossal sense of humor, but his manner is quite often underscored, and, at times reserved. He bears almost no resemblance to his bombastic, ideological partners Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro.

In addition to Morales, the filmmakers utilize quite a bit of time with Leonilda Zurita, a rural candidate for Senate living in a thatched roofed shelter with no walls and no running water. At one point, Zurita leads fellow members of the women’s coca union in chants: “Viva Comrade Evo, Viva the coca leaf, death to the Yankees.” Typically I would have a bit of discomfort when hearing folks yowl “death to the Yanks”, but one explore at the frailty of the assembled crowd and the jocular manner in which they hurl their chants do them seem more farcical than a threat.

The Zurita parts are intriguing. Here’s a lady campaigning for Senate, one of Morales key politicos, and at one point in the film we scrutinize her apologize, as she offers a bowl of eggs to the camerman, that she “wasn’t able to collect the chicken.” At another, we examine Zurita as she helps bring in the harvest of the coca leaf.

Another arresting vignette shows off the PR skills of Adriana Gil, an blooming woman with dilapidated European looks who during the campaign worked as the spokesperson for Morale’s political party, MAS. Gil is clearly a salubrious face and a strong spinmeister who was brought in to assuage the city people of St. Cruz who were mostly supporting the other candidate amid cries by Morales that he would try to expropriate land from those in cities who “had too grand,” and give it to the farmers.
