Obviously, with ‘Futurama’ being made by Matt Groening, the same creator of probably the most common enchanting reveal in the world, ‘The Simpsons’, expectations were high for ‘Futurama’. It had to be an instant hit, and I have to say it’s not as favorite as ‘The Simpsons’, but it is definitely worth watching, and the first season is definitely worth buying.

1. Region Pilot 3000

A 25-year-old pizza delivery boy named Fry spends Fresh Year’s Eve 1999 lamenting his lame existence. That night, he accidentally freezes himself in a cryogenics lab and awakens at the dawn of the year 3,000! With the past 1,000 years leisurely him, Fry decides to beget a modern initiate. He tracks down his great-great-great-great (etc.) nephew, Professor Farnsworth, and gets a job with his intergalactic delivery service. With the attend of his two original friends, a pleasing one-eyed alien named Leela and a degenerate robot named Bender, Fry prepares for the hump of his life in this bizarre original millennium.

3. I, Roommate
Everyone is sick of Fry so he has to accept his bear apartment. He decides to become Bender’s roommate. The only derive is that Bender’s apartment has a volume of 2 cubic meters. Fry convinces Bender to glimpse for a better dwelling, they regain a original apartment, only that Bender’s antenna interferes with the TV reception (a thousand years and televisions unexcited exhaust tedious antenna? some things never change) . Fry prefers to discontinue in his apartment instead of going support to Bender’s, but Leela convinces him to. When Fry asks where to save his stuff, Bender suggests the closet, which is broad enough for Fry to live.

4. Love’s Labors Lost in Region
On a mission intended to place endangered animals on a collapsing planet, Leela and the crew speed into legendary starship captain Zapp Brannigan. A self-proclaimed ladies man, Zapp sees Leela as a potential novel conquest. When the captain refuses to benefit the animal rescue, Leela and her crew try to leave Zapp’s starship. But Zapp throws Fry and Bender in jail, and summons Leela to his “Lovenasium.” They ultimately speed and near on the doomed planet, where Leela finally finds admire – with a cute, and very useful, creature named Nibbler.

5. Terror of a Bot Planet
At Madison Cube Garden watching a blernsball game, Bender complains about the bad treatment of robots. They’re only there to spruce up, polish the balls or water the fields. They never pick up any respect. Later, Bender must speak a package to a planet inhabited by murderous robots that raze humans on gape. He discovers a robotopia – a land where the robot is king! However, when Leela and Fry are captured, Bender must resolve between protecting his celebrity area or saving his friends.

6. A Fishful of Dollars
A thousand years is a long time to set up money, and Fry’s savings fable has been racking up interest. When Fry discovers honest how distinguished – over 4 billion dollars – Fry goes a limited overboard. After completely redecorating the apartment, splurging on expensive spa days and treating his friends to innumerable luxuries, Fry discovers the ultimate expense. Anchovies. This rare delicacy as been broken-down for years, and Fry must battle the contaminated conglomerate known as Mom, plus Pamela Anderson Lee’s head in a jar, to pick up them!

7. My Three Suns
The crew visits an arid planet in the Galaxy of Scare distinctive for it’s three suns and liquid alien inhabitants. Fry, after delivering a package under the scorching heat, quenches his thirst with a bottle of wintry blue liquid. Fry abuses his newfound power, even appointing Bender second in mumble, until the aliens retaliate and the right battle for power begins.

8. A Colossal Fragment of Garbage
A gargantuan portion of garbage that was released a thousand years ago is now on the contrivance to Earth to ruin it. 9. Hell is Other Robots
Bender becomes addicted to electricity, so his sins gain him go to robot hell. Since he is condemned to live there for eternity, it’s up to Fry and Leela to set aside him from Beelzebot, the robot devil.

Futurama has surpassed the Simpsons as the funniest demonstrate currently on television (even though it probably won’t be on powerful longer thanks to FOX) . What makes this explain even more unbelievable is the fact that unlike other broad shows (Seinfeld, Simpsons, MST 3K), this series had an absolutely hilarious first season. The Simpsons and MST3K didn’t catch edifying until their 3rd seasons, Seinfeld until its 2nd, but Futurama was a laugh riot legal off the bat.
This 3-DVD position includes the first 13 episodes of the series (not unbiased the first 9, as some other reviewers have mentioned) . These thirteen were originally intended to be the complete first season, but because FOX is race by a bunch or contemptible jerks, they only ran 9 episodes in season one, ran the final 4 at the beginning of the second season, and have been shoving episodes forward ever since.
Here are the episodes in the this set:
1. Plot Pilot 3000 – Philip Fry is cryogenically frozen and wakes up in the year 3000, where he joins the crew of a situation traveling delivery service.
2. The Series has Landed – The crew takes a package to the Moon, where Fry, Leela and Bender have a run-in with Moon rancher and his three robot daughters.
3. I, Roommate – Fry gets booted out of the Planet Snarl HQ because he is a sloppy pig, so he moves in with Bender. Hilarity ensues a la “The Curious Couple.”
4. Love’s Labours Lost in Spot – The crew has an encounter with eminent dwelling pilot Zapp Brannigan and his second-in-command Kif, and Leela finds a modern friend in the pint-sized alien Nibbler.
5. Alarm of a Bot Planet – THe crew soar to a planet accelerate by militant, human-hating robots. Bender fits moral in, but Fry and Leela are captures and Bender has to rescue them.
6. A Fishful of Dollars – Fry finds out that he is a billionaire because of the interest accrued in his bank anecdote over 1000 years, and spends his money or faded 20th century memorabilia and a tin of now conventional anchovies. But the ruthless head of a robot oil corporation, Mom, will go to broad lengths to have those anchovies.
7. My Three Suns – Fry accidentally drinks the emperor of a planet whose inhabitants are quiet entirely of water. He becomes their original king, but finds the constant assassination attempts too grand to maintain, and the rest of the crew try to benefit him “wail out” the emporer.
8. A Astronomical Portion of Garbage – A colossal portion of garbage sent away from earth hundreds of years ago is on its blueprint succor and headed suitable for Fresh Recent York. THe Professor and the crew have to near up with a arrangement to finish it.
9. Hell is Other Robots – Bender joins a robot religion and gives up drinking and hookers, but after he has a relapse, he is sent to Robot Hell, where Fry and Leela must rescue him.
10. A Flight to Remember – The Planet Instruct crew go on a vacation on the Gargantuan – a gargantuan but doomed luxury residence liner.

Each episode has a commentary track, and all three discs fill a least one deleted scene, a featurette, animatics and level-headed photos. That makes this one of the greatest DVD collections of a Tv note that you can find, and at only $… (about $… an episode) this is an absolute recall. I recommend this highly.

Hello, my name is Beatrice. I’m twelve years frail, and a long-time Spongebob fan. I’m writing regarding the gripping decline in the quality of Spongebob episodes that we have been seeing for several years now.

Seasons one-three were stout. This would have to have been the Golden Age of Spongebob. The writing was competent and didn’t “talk down” to the audience, and the exhibit, though primarily aimed at children, was clever enough for adults to indulge in it as well.

The movie was alright. Not terrible, but not substantial either.

Season four is okay. Some episodes are very good–”Krusty Towers” and “The Lost Mattress” are prime examples–but there has definitely a change in tone, and the title character is noteworthy more annoying and childish than he ragged to be.

Season five starts out decent, but hasty degenerates into such disgraceful episodes as “Goo Goo Gas” and “Whatever Happened to Spongebob” (what an ironic title) .

Season six: really, really poor. Abominable. To say that it’s a shadow of the prove it once was would be the understatement of the year.

Season seven: I haven’t seen any episodes from season seven, but judging by the direction things have been headed, I don’t mediate I want to.

{{Please mark that I am not insulting the writers themselves; I’m merely addressing the fact that they aren’t doing a wonderful job}}

Here is my theory:

The original writers who came with the resignation of series creator Stephen Hillenburg lacked the “zip” of the older ones. They seemed to be aware of this fact. They figured, “We know we can’t write worth a darn. So, let’s honest gear the indicate towards undiscerning itsy-bitsy kids–they’ve been our steady moneymakers anyway.”

And their conception worked. Though older fans were starting to turn away from the series, they were aloof making money. So then they concept, “Why not go a notch lower? It’ll select less time and danger, and the kids won’t even gawk.”

And it worked again.

They’ve been continuing with this general downward trend–getting lazier and lazier–and now they’re churning out episodes that are so sloppily effect together, so insulting to the viewer’s intelligence, that they’re genuinely painful to peek. To quote my brother, who is also a Spongebob fan: “The original ones are tainted.”

These recent writers don’t even seem to understand the characters. They’ve simply taken each one’s main character trait and taken it to such an grievous that it’s not even funny: Spongebob, as evil as possible. Patrick, as wearisome as possible. Squidward, as mean as possible. They’re not at all charming like they old-fashioned to be–they’re caricatures of their ancient selves, that’s what they are.

There are fewer jokes and situation twists per episode (it takes less time and concept) ; one gets the sense that everything is drawn out to accommodate the standard 11-minute time slot. That includes the jokes, which are dragged out to painful lengths (peruse the season five episode, “A Flea in her Dome”) .

Very unusual episodes seem to be avoiding remotely unhappy endings, as if the kids wouldn’t be able to handle it. It can’t even be done in a laughable manner (perceive the season three episode, “Clams”), because that would honest be TOO Powerful for them to steal.

Now, on to the DVD itself: the only decent episode on this DVD is the titular “Spongebob vs. the Tremendous One”. The rest are so awful that if I didn’t know better, I might assume that someone was doing a parody of Spongebob. (”No Nose Knows” especially.)

In the years since the movie, the point to has gone from a clever, well-made cartoon to–as one critic set aside it–”something it once wasn’t: unprejudiced another kid-pandering attention-waster.”

I doubt Spongebob will ever actually salvage better. When it really hits bottom and loses all of its fans (I know that will happen), it will most likely be cancelled rather than going befriend up to previous quality. And when that happens, Nickelodeon will collapse because the centerpiece of Nickelodeon popularity will no longer be there. Maybe they will have learned their lesson? I don’t know.

Whatever the case, I have (needless to say) stopped seeking out novel episodes. In fact, I deem I did in the mid-fourth season. The only reason I have seen modern episodes is because my dinky sister is a die-hard Spongebob fan, and she often wants me to join her in watching them. She’s too young to view that this point to is going down the drain (pun intended), but she will soon. In fact, there will advance a time when it sinks so indecent that even the petite children it’s clearly aimed at will feel compelled to fade on to other, better cartoons.

Thank you for reading my rant.

-Beatrice Larison

P.S.: If anyone else has their possess theory about what brought on this general decline in quality, please leave a comment and say what it is.

Hollywood has made movies from books, TV shows, even other movies. However, “Mars Attacks” may be the first time a movie was made from a trading card.

Back in the slow 1960s, Topps Cards created a line of Mars Attacks trading cards. However, these cards were pulled off the shelves after only a few months because the aliens depicted on them were considered to be too ugly. My, how times have changed.

Director Tim Burton has taken those obsolete trading cards and recreated them into this Sci-Fi B-movie throwback. In the process, he has created a movie that is pure, guiltless fun.

“Mars Attacks” also benefits from an all-star cast, including Jack Nicholson (in a dual-role), Michael J. Fox, Sarah Jessica Parker, Pierce Brosnan, Martin Short, Danny Devito, Glenn Halt, Natalie Portman, Tom Jones, Annette Bening, Lukas Haas, Jim Brown, and many others. The fact that you derive to glance the aliens disentegrate (and otherwise extinguish) many of these stars only adds to the fun. Unfortunately, Tom Jones wasn’t one of those unlucky stars. Maybe someday a sequel will be made that will rectify that. :)

Oh yeah…….. did I happen to mention that Congress gets vaporized? This proves that the Martians aren’t all unpleasant!

The DVD comes with many extras, including quite a few production notes that helps you to understand how the movie came to be. This is one movie that you will want to watch over and over again (especially anytime that Congress is getting on your nerves) .

Tim Burton outdoes himself with this humorous, but amusing, spoof of 1950s flying saucer/alien invasion movies. It is absolutely zany and quite comic. There is also nothing politically just about it, as there are no sacred cows. The film is totally irreverent of American culture and icons. Everything and everyone is radiant game.

Martians have near to Earth, and they do not near in peace. Diabolical and deadly, they are crooked on wreaking havoc wherever they go with their death ray guns, which benefit to incinerate living beings. These bulbous headed martians with their have mark of deadly humour are hell crooked on destroying Earth, while laughing and cackling maniacally.

The special effects are meant to to be reminiscent of those found in 1950s UFO flicks and in this it certainly succeeds. The cast is stellar with Jack Nicholson playing dual roles, that of President James Dale and that of entrepreneur Art Dale. Glenn Discontinuance, Annette Bening, Pierce Brosnan, Danny DeVito, Martin Short, Sarah Jessica Parker, Michael J. Fox, Rod Steiger, Jim Brown, Natalie Portman, Sylvia Sydney, Paul Winfield, Pam Grier, Lisa Marie, Christine Applegate, Lukas Haas, and Tom Jones round out the star studded cast. With tongue in cheek performances, the viewer is prance to bag a satisfactory laugh out of this film.

This movie is area in contemporary London and its yarn revolves around the life of playboy Will Freeman (Hugh Grant) . Freeman is an independent man who enjoys a slow life carved into careful sections. His friends collect him desperately lonely and unfulfilled, a plan he entirely disregards. Whilst trying to fetch creative current ways to meet single women for casual relationships, he meets a boy named Marcus (Nicholas Hoult) . Marcus is the misfit at his school, overburdened by his freethinking and chronically unhappy mother, Fiona (Toni Collette) . Freeman and Marcus forge an unlikely but generous bond that transposes their generation gap and differences. Culminating in a hilarious school music performance, the two perceive fresh ways to navigate a changing world and terms in which to redefine the meaning of family.

Saturated by the astounding music of Badly Drawn Boy, this is an enduring and appetizing comedy. Hugh Grant’s character of the naughty unlikely hero seems ideally reliable to him. Collette’s performance as a seeming shallow liberal is wonderfully dynamic, bringing depth and heart to the character. The film tackles many social issues, especially problems of male (father-son) relations, from a compelling point of plan. It’s a represent of original England that burrows into the largely untapped life of this bright country. The horribly undeveloped and unrealistic character of the rebellious teenage girl with whom Marcus becomes smitten is the only space where this film really lacks. Otherwise it is a pleasure to stare.

Heartwarming studio chickflick about Hugh Grant bonding with a microscopic boy…this description didn’t send me rushing to the cinema, despite the Reduce Hornsby notice. But shockingly, About a Boy isn’t a standard Hollywood prefab romcom or sentimental twaddle — it’s an steady film, sharply written, evocatively directed, beautifully acted.

The caustic British wit immediately sets the film apart from its studio comedy brethren — its actually, frequently silly. The characters feel loyal, lived in. The splendid dual voiceover is potent rebuke to those unexcited peddling the convential wisdom that vo’s are “uncinematic” (if this includes you you’re immediately assigned “Election” and “Adaptation”), working comfortably inside our protagonists’ heads without any dreaded ‘literary’ staining, bringing their vibrant inner lives to humorous life.

So instead of the fraudulent life lessons and maudlin sentimentality films of this sort so often trade in, we obtain a sharp, witty memoir about…okay, yeah…Hugh Grant bonding with a exiguous boy. But that’s no reason not to rent it.

The widescreen recount is glowing (another nice departure from drearily filmed studio comedies) and the disc comes with numerous, lengthy deleted scenes that are virtually all terrific, and well worth viewing.

I’m shrinking that so many reviewers here were disappointed in Bette Davis’ appearance, wardrobe, lighting and perform up in this film. People, she was playing a humdrum broke has been. She looked perfect for this role as Margaret Elliot, the once glamorous Oscar-winning star of the movies. Had she looked like the stylish Margo Channing of “All About Eve”, her “Margaret Elliot” wouldn’t have been as convincing.

Okay, the script wasn’t perfect, but Davis approached this material like a suitable professional and gave the role everything she had, which was plenty. Davis never really cared about the device she looked and current the fact that she was no Garbo or Jean Harlow. She had played unglamorous parts many times before. Miss Davis was a good actress, an artist.

The characterize is “black”, yes, but if it had been anything else, it would have ruined this film. The atmosphere created by the director was appropriate for the set. Margaret was in worry. She was afraid to death and was desperate to accumulate “relieve where I belong.” She felt that “one beneficial fraction” was all she needed.

After throwing her sister and brother-in-law out of her modest apartment in a screaming rage, Margaret grabs her Oscar, buys a cheap bottle of hooch and takes a drunken stride through the streets of Beverly Hills, stopping briefly by her archaic mansion where she sorrowfully breaks down in tears.

Davis looked like hell the morning after being bailed from jail by a outmoded co-star (Estimable Hayden), who was miscast all over the station. She arrived home to procure out that her key didn’t fit anymore. She had been locked out for non-payment of rent. Defeated, now homeless, she tells Gracious Hayden, after he asks “where to? “, “isn’t this the kill of the line? “

The papers are tubby of the scandal the next morning prompting Margaret to hold advantage of the “publicity” as she storms into her agent’s office and demands that he secure her the role she’s wanted to play for years in a script called “The Fatal Winter”. “But, what about the papers? ” the agent asks. She retorts, “Joe Morrison is Indignant about publicity!” She is fearful when Morrison (the producer) wants her to play, not the lead, but the lead’s older sister, Sara. Margaret is a STAR! So, she plots to collect the lead by altering her mask test and playing Sara like a young siren so as to convince Morrison that he’s made a mistake. The test is bad as played, but Davis, the actress was bright.

In this role, Bette Davis does everything but hit the ceiling! She pops her eyes, bites her consonents, screams, yells, gets drunk, fights with the police, gets thrown in jail, has the screaming meanies, tells off a couple of extinct ladies, slaps faces and smokes cartons of cigarettes. Now, that’s acting!

When the Oscar nominations came out, Bette Davis was among the five nominees for “best actress” of 1952. Queer because Joan Crawford had been offered “The Star” and she turned it down flat. Davis had been offered “Sudden Fright” which she promptly refused. Bette had also been offered “Approach Benefit, Dinky Sheba” but didn’t feel the portion was true for her, leaving Shirley Booth to explain her stage success on conceal. So, Bette well-liked “The Star” and Joan grabbed “Sudden Dismay”. All three got nominated for the Academy Award! Booth won.

In 1952, Bette Davis’ career was on the skids. She, like Margaret Elliot, needed a juicy portion to achieve her assist on top. This role didn’t do it, but it kept her working throughout the ’50s with varying degrees of success. My common, besides “The Star” was “The Catered Affair” (1956) .

Despite the criticism I’ve read here of the film, I enjoyed it and it is an essential allotment of my film collection. Bravo Bette!

Bette Davis plays a washed up Hollywood movie queen with abandon, and her terrific performance earned her a ninth Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. In the role of Margaret Elliot, Bette infuses it with all the angst and self-doubt that a honest has been might undergo.

Margaret Elliot, humdrum broke, down and out, can’t obtain a role in tinseltown. Drowning her sorrows in alcohol and self pity, Margaret is in serious denial about herself. As she spirals downward, both personally and professionally, a aesthetic man (Capable Hayden), whom she had given a wreck to many years before, comes to her rescue.

When her agent manages to derive Margaret a test for the section of an older woman, and it looks like she may have a serious shot at it, Margaret, preferring to play the role of the ingenue, lets her ego buy over, and she flubs the test. When she realizes what she has done, her world comes crashing down on her, and self realization sets in. She comes to a crossroad in her life. What decision she comes to remains for the viewer to see.

This is a nineteen fifties style melodrama, stark and grim. Bette has no qualms about appearing as a woman who is aging, as she appears with bags and circles under her eyes and has a somewhat jowly and bitter gawk. The wardrobe is mostly drab, and the sets are pedestrian. This all works to finish, as these accouterments are symbolic of Margaret Elliot’s novel reality. Profitable Hayden gives a credible performance as Mr. Nice Guy, though there is a scene in which a moment of politically inaccurate domestic violence is interjected. A teenage Natalie Wood appears in the role of Margaret’s daughter and is perfectly adorable in the role.

This is a film that Bette Davis fans are definite to relish.

Wow! This season of 24 has been a mesmerizing thrill-ride honest like the previous three seasons, all of which had a titanic storyline, obliging region twists, and many surprising outcomes. Season four brings in some current modern characters and has many enormous unexpected guest appearances. Many familiar faces return for this day of crisis, and the fearsome unique villain is played with cold-hearted intensity by The Mummy’s Arnold Vosloo. The threat this time around is distinguished different, as there are multiple situations to deal with. Jack Bauer has to beget some extremely difficult choices as per usual, but it will be appealing to gaze where the present is taken next year, especially after this season’s ending. Kiefer Sutherland is involving as the frustrated and tormented Jack Bauer, who has found a unique esteem in his life, the daughter of the Secretary of Defense Audrey Heller-Raines. But their appreciate will be assign to the ultimate test during the next 24 hours. This is must-see television and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an recent and radiant suspense-filled drama. Season five returns on FOX January 2006.

‘24′ Season Four is better than Day 3 (season three) and manages to be even more complex and compelling than the last two seasons. The technical work is better than ever, and the main storyline rivals season one’s. Season Four brings a refreshing change to the show’s formula with its many current cast members, and here are the highlights of this friendly season:

Buy,Download, Or Stream 24 – Season Four! Click Here

1) When we first peruse Jack Bauer, he’s working for the Secretary of Defense James Heller (William Devane), all the while carrying on an affair with his daughter Audrey Raines (Kim Raver) . Then a villian named Habib Marwan sets in motion a belief to bring down the US Government. Jack and Audrey’s care for for each other is affected by the day’s events, and the emotional turmoils that construct are captivating. Jack must risk his bear life and the lives of others around him to do the US government and its people, which in turn complicates their relationship.

2) The twists are more predictable now that the formula has been played out several times prior to this season, but there are calm some hideous events in the various storylines, and they are most prominent in the storyline arresting the Araz family.

3) The acting by Keifer Sutherland is genuine as he makes Jack Bauer a more poignant, grounded hero. Chloe O’Brian (Mary Lynn Rajskub), the sarcastic worker of CTU from season three, also shows some maturity and brings some well-needed humor to the ever-growing tension that develops in the season. Many novel characters are introduced, but no one is more consuming than Dina Araz (Shoreh Aghdashloo) . Her character traits contradict each other and are establish to the test over the season, making her this season’s most entertaining character. Aghdashloo plays Dina as a mother who has no options in the spot she is caught up in, and the display is revitalized due to her knowing performance. It’s a travesty that she wasn’t nominated for an Emmy or Golden Globe for her gargantuan supporting role.

4) The production values are consistent and the camerawork nearly flawless.

‘24′ Season Four improves on nearly everything from the previous seasons and does deserve its acclaim from critics and fans as the show’s best season, but I personally win season one because its conclusion was more yarn, deep, and good. Smooth, ‘24′ Season Four makes for riveting television as it reinvents the thrilling formula that has made first-time viewers and long-time fans sit up and prefer eye.

This movie is bad! The acting is soooo poor!!! The dialogue is even worse!!! Storyline virtually non-existent. Couldn’t stand to leer it for more that 5 minutes. Do yourself a favor & don’t slay your hard earned money. Should have waited until someone had reviewed it before buying it. It is an insult to impartial about every other Christmas movie ever made. This DVD will be donated to the library.

I gave this movie one star. If I could have given it less, I would have. The acting was amateur and the movie in general was droll. I could not obtain a redeeming quality in this movie. Sorry.

Oh, man, I savor this movie. It’s not perfect, but it takes such a recent and juicy reach to scare that I can only wonder why more awe fans haven’t feasted of the virtual flesh that is Brainscan. Obvious, the climax of the film is predictable, and the place requires the mega-indulgence of your imagination, and the final, final twist is something of a letdown (of shrimp importance), but this film has pizzazz and originality, a heavy rocking soundtrack, and a top-notch element of creepiness that flowed through my veins like liquid nirvana.

Edward Furlong of T2 fame plays Michael Bower, a rather solitary computer nerd of a teenager who lives in a world of dread films, computer games, and rock music; like many a panic fanatic, he is always on the lookout for the ultimate panic experience (although, as typically happens, he’s disturbed to earn a go on the girl next door whom he secretly pines for) . He sounds a lot like me, actually, but this kid has an awesome computer system (especially for 1994) which includes a virtual assistant named Igor. When his best (and only) bud tells him about this unusual interactive game called Brainscan (dude, it’s advertised in Fangoria), he calls up the number and soon finds himself engaged in an experience he was not prepared for. The first disk promises him a realistic experience of killing from the viewpoint of the killer himself. Don’t accept hung up on the details because he basically objective sits there and the game sends out some kind of special hypnotic waves toward his brain or something. Anyway, he’s glorious stoked about the experience until he learns that a local man was actually murdered in an identical fashion – it was supposed to be unprejudiced a computer game. Naturally, he starts to freak out a small bit, but the marvelous Brainscan mastermind is there to befriend him. Trickster (T. Ryder Smith) even keeps popping into his room in some kind of magically electronic fashion to guide (more like compel, actually) him through the other three game disks – he has to acquire care of witnesses, you view. Meanwhile, the law is circling in on him, he doesn’t know what’s genuine and what’s not, and he’s basically forced to retain playing the game. We all know who the last victim will be, of course, but we have to wait and glimpse whether he can go through with the final destroy. The ultimate conclusion comes as no surprise because there is really only one contrivance to extinguish a film such as this, but it was pulled off fairly well, throwing in a couple of elements that seemed a dinky left of center.

This was not some high-budget theatrical production, and that’s ravishing – in fact, more money would probably have ruined this film. The acting isn’t the best in the world, although Furlong improves as he goes along, Amy Hargreaves has that cute girl next door thing working to perfection, and T. Ryder Smith is an absolute joy to gape in the role of Trickster. Some mysteries are left a petite dismal, such as those about a trauma in Michael’s past, and noteworthy of the secrets of the game play itself are basically impartial ignored, but there’s no need to overanalyze this gloriously over-the-top film. I was a slight annoyed at first by the darkness of the film print, but I soon concluded that this was a estimable thing; Brainscan really should be watched in the gloomy. Objective sit succor, give yourself over completely to the film, and reap the rewards of this ingeniously different kind of horror/science fiction/suspense classic.

Finally, I have to throw out some kudos to the makers of this film for including Zak the dog in the credits; Zak had a famous albeit supporting role in the film, but this canine earned his money and certainly deserved credit for his work.

I decided I had to review this when I read that some people didn’t behold the trickster as scary. I agree the trickster isn’t scary. That being said, I don’t really want to sight him as scary because, to me, this movie isn’t about being haunted. To me this is a gigantic nineties gem that reminds me of all the terror media I enjoyed growing up. Granted it’s rated R and is a tad more improper (being that it is brought to you by the same man who brought a movie about the seedy underground pornography industry [8mm]), but to me, it composed has the same appeal of an are you unnerved of the sunless or a goosebumps. The kind of sage that is somewhat of mix between friday the 13th, and stand by me.

Share my attraction lies in that the protagonist is a apprehension obsessed computer nerd, whom I resembled at more than one point in my life. I can portray to this kid of many levels and I guess I longed for an adventure like this to reach along and sweep me up

No this isn’t an sage, it’s a movie of the week, but it’s very sentimental to those of us who remember having the time of our lives reading a goosebumps or watching an are you terrorized of the black. If nothing more, the appeal of this movie lies in the less than accepted kid getting the girl and having a few creepy encounters along the diagram. That epic,no matter how many times told, will always plan my interest.

So I guess this is to me what befriend to the future/ star wars is to many others. They can have that. I’ll buy my brainscan
